Show Time!

Well, it’s show time – tomorrow.

We are having a pleasant autumn (for us, autumn begins after Labour Day) and we have been promised ‘second summer’. So far, it’s looking nice for the coming week.

Personally I have been working on…myself. There comes a time when the body demands it. However, I am still trying to get to the loom, at least once a day. Part of the ‘problem’ (if you will) is a body that has been assailed too many times and it is letting me know that it is struggling. It seemed about the time that I felt ‘better’ enough to function after the brain bleed, the rest of my body said ‘stick a fork in me, I’m done’. So then the struggle became one of my mind saying ‘do this’ and my body saying ‘nope’. And would not budge.

The past few years have been anything but ‘golden’. But at least I have my brain back – more or less. There are still days I struggle with words. And that is my biggest ‘fear’ about doing the seminars. Will my brain get tired and shut down? Or am I better enough to pull this off?

(I think I can. I think I can.)

The office has been set up to better suit doing Zoom presentations, with thanks to my spouse. I have my thumb drive with Power Point presentations. And usually around 1 pm I’m functioning reasonably well. So, I’ve stacked the cards as best I can to do this thing. But I also know that things sometimes go ‘wrong’ – had to postpone a guild presentation because they had storm warnings and likely power outages. So an hour before start time, we postponed and hopefully we can do another date later. (And yes, indeed, they had power outages.)

And that’s the thing. Life is full of unforeseen circumstances. I’ve had my share. And every time I managed to deal with them, and keep going.

So, tomorrow, I have made every contingency plan I could foresee, and hopefully the weather will co-operate and not toss any severe weather at me, and everything will happen the way it is supposed to.

Plus I have gone through this process once, discovered the weak ‘links’ and have a plan for the next time. But again, unforeseen circumstances may crop up. For today I plan on getting to the loom, at least once. And tomorrow I will see what happens. And then go forward from there.
